A mid-sized fresh produce distributor reached out to modernize its fragmented ordering process. Their customers placed orders through phone calls, emails, and spreadsheets. This setup created friction, errors, and wasted time. The company needed a reliable digital platform that could handle growing demand without adding complexity.
Challenge
The existing workflow was entirely manual. Orders had to be checked, validated, and entered manually into backoffice systems. The company wanted one central system to manage customer orders efficiently while giving staff full operational control.
Solution
We designed and built a B2B e-commerce platform that connects customers and backoffice operations in real time. The solution is multi monolith and consists out of a customer portal for placing orders and an administrator backoffice for managing products, prices, incoming orders and customer onboarding. Every feature was built with operational efficiency and data consistency in mind.
Result
The new platform that simplifies the entire ordering flow, enabling customers to place orders directly and allowing staff to manage them in real time. Internal testing and stakeholder feedback showed a dramatic reduction in manual input and communication overhead. Even before full rollout, the system demonstrated how a connected digital backbone could reshape daily operations.
Reflection
This project captures the essence of what Chapter Two stands for: building digital systems that make business sense. By connecting operations and technology, we turned a manual, error-prone workflow into a scalable foundation.
